About that “Bi-partison support” Friedman noted in today’s column about the maybe-to-be proposed climate bill — Yeah, bi-partisonship is out. Graham is now out. Surprise, surprise.
It frustrates me to no end that this country is completely incapable of even dipping a toe into the water of moving to energy efficiency. It’s such a no-brainer, and as Friedman calls it, “a win, win, win, win, win, win”. He’s right. Economically, environmentally, politically, foreign-policy-wise, and health-wise, we’d all be better off.
Ughghghghhh!!!

Working from home, I constantly seek out new/instresting stuff to listen to while I’m working. Here are a few podcasts I listen to on a regular basis:
Boagworld - Fantastic (and often very funny) podcast about all things web design & development.
FreelanceSwitch Podcast - Been a fan for a while now. Great insight from a roundtable of freelancers in a variety of industries. Great content, not so frequent podcasts.
37 Signals Podcast - Interesting bite-sized bits of content from the guys at 37 Signals. Not really a regular podcast, but more of a sampling of various talks, QA sessions, etc.
WordPress Weekly (wptavern) - A++ podcast for the WordPress community. This is THE go-to resource for the latest developments in the world of WordPress. Consistently interesting interviews, lengthy shows, I can’t say enough positive things about this one.
Mixergy - Not really a podcast, but a semi-daily video show, which I love to watch/listen to in the background. Really awesome in-depth interviews with business owners from a wide variety of industries and backgrounds.
Explicit Web - The new one in the bunch. Cool web design podcast from @JohnONolan and co (who I’ve been following for a while now…).

I’m not gonna lie. One of the biggest reasons I voted for Obama was the fact that he and his team are so tech/web/design savvy. This was apparent from day 1 of his Presidential Campaign.
From the kick-ass social media infused website, to their beautifully designed print campaigns, team Obama not only “gets”, they kill it (in a good way). There was a big media story when Obama demanded to keep his blackberry as President, against the wishes of his security people. I don’t know about you, but I really like knowing we have a President who’s connected.
This link talks about the new WhiteHouse.gov mobile website featuring HTML5 support for live video. Who said government can’t get anything right?
Razzball.com - This blog is f-ing hilarious every time. And I probably value the Fantasy MLB insight more than any other resource out there.
If only I could share this enjoyment with my friends. Maybe after draft day : )
It’s a buyer’s real estate market.
Or is it? As I’m shopping to buy my first home, I can’t help but worry that a second crash could happen just as easily as the first.
There hasn’t been any reforms yet, and given our (broken) political system, all signs point to no *real* reforms any time soon.
So we’ll probably get a great price for a home today. But will there be a second recession 5 years from now… around the time we’re ready to sell and upgrade?
